Partner Logo Usage: Remember, you must be in compliance by 31 December

As CMMI Institute Partners, you are the face of CMMI Institute to most of the world. As a global brand, we must display a consistent face to the market to preserve and uphold the CMMI Institute brand image. When we all use the same branding, we look larger to the marketplace and display a unified brand in our goal to increase global adoption of CMMI. In addition, the compliance issue is more important and urgent now because of our recent acquisition by ISACA. CMMI Institute and our Partners may no longer use Carnegie Mellon University or Software Engineering Institute language or logos on our materials.

Please review the complete CMMI Institute Partner Logo Guidelines document which is available in the Partner Resource Center, CMMI – Business section for all BPOCs. CMMI Partner Status Validation:

CMMI Institute often receives inquiries regarding the status of CMMI Institute licensed Partner organizations and appraised organizations. Please note that we avoid discussing the business concerns of one organization with another. Our response to such queries is to direct the inquirer to the Partner Directory or to the Published Appraisal Results Page.
We hope that you find these sites useful; any additional questions can be directed to

Quality Update: Revised Audit Policy

A revised copy of CMMI Institute’s audit policy has been posted at; refer to “0020-R CMMI Institute Audit Policy.”
The Audit Policy has been revised to 1) include audits of CMMI introductory courses and 2) provide more clarity to what is expected during an audit.
The CMMI Institute randomly selects appraisal and course deliveries for audit. The goal is to mentor and make direct improvements in circumstances related to the appraisal or course delivery for sponsor organizations. Appraisers and Instructors must be prepared to participate in audits during any phase of the appraisal or course delivery. Please refer to the policy for more information and contact with questions.

As is our practice, CMMI Institute sent a direct email about the policy revision to all Business Points of Contact and certified individuals in November.
