Many of you mentioned in your survey responses that you were pleased with the release of A Guide to Scrum and CMMI®: Improving Agile Performance with CMMI at the start of the year, and you are not alone! Already, the guide has been downloaded over 3,000 times! The marketing team here continues to work on ways to connect the agile community with CMMI, while the development team ensures that the next generation of CMMI will have agile content built in from the beginning. These efforts can be traced back to feedback we received from the market—end users as well as Partners—and we will continue to listen to the market to move the CMMI forward.

Name Change: CMMI Institute, LLC
CMMI Institute, LLC is now our official legal name. Formerly, CMMI Institute was the “doing business as” (DBA) name for Clearmodel, LLC. Our tax ID number remains unchanged. This will not affect any payments that have been sent, but please make all future payments to “CMMI Institute, LLC” moving forward. If you have any questions, please contact email@example.com.
Tax Residency Certificate Available Now:
After a long time and a lot of patience from our Partners, we have received CMMI Institute’s 2016 Tax Residency Certificates(TRC) from the United States Internal Revenue Service. Thank you for bearing with us over the months as we worked to acquire this document after the CMMI Institute ownership changed. The 2017 TRC request has already been filed and we hope to obtain it soon.

Next Generation Update
For Your Information:
As the development of the next generation of CMMI continues, it is important to acknowledge that this name and its variations (next generation, next gen, nexgen) is the project’s internal use name and not the final external market name. A full naming study is currently underway, with results concluding in early March. We plan to announce the official name for the product suite shortly thereafter. As part of the process, legal reviews are underway to determine the intellectual property and trademark risks to usage and registration of the name(s) globally.
Ways to Get Involved:
One of the improvements planned for the next generation of CMMI is updating the content of the People CMM (P-CMM) model and aligning the architecture of the P-CMM with CMMI. The architecture work is complete and the content work is underway for the “Workforce Management” practice areas. We are looking for reviewers for this work who have experience with the P-CMM or professional expertise in the areas of people management, human resources, etc. If you are interested in this opportunity, please reach out to email@example.com and we will connect you with the team.

Send in your Nominations for New PAB Members
The Partner Advisory Board (PAB) is designed to reflect the make-up of our global Partner Network. The election will take place online in March 2017. Nominations for the upcoming election were collected through the Annual Partner Survey. Please remember that only Partner business points of contact may sit on the PAB.
We’ll Waive your Appraisal Fee when You Use a Candidate ATM
Several prospective candidate lead appraisers and instructors need to gain experience as an appraisal team member (ATM) before they can move ahead on their path to certification. If you use one of the interested ATMs from our list, we will waive the $900 appraisal fee for the appraisal on which the ATM participates. End-of-Course Survey Report Available
The January 2016 – December 2016 aggregate End-of-Course survey report is available for instructors in the PRC. Click into the “Survey Results” folder under your instructor role: https://prc.cmmiinstitute.com/.
As a reminder, you should be automatically receiving your individual survey results each time a student submits feedback listing you as their instructor. (The individual feedback messages will come from SurveyGizmo which allows you to quickly find and filter these messages.)

CMMI and COBIT Tool
The COBIT 5/CMMI Practices Pathway Tool provides business IT practitioners with guidance on how to deliver additional value to stakeholders by strengthening process designs. Users will be able to utilize organizational resources more effectively, measure performance more accurately, and lower costs through stronger governance.
